Brief summary of ELO 1 innovations over three years

Differences between ELO 1 generations – what has changed and why it makes sense

Some time ago, we shared a video showing the development of the ELO 1 model across generations – from the first units to the latest version. If you are wondering how the ELO 1 has improved, the overview below will show you the practical differences and the reasons for the changes.

ELO 1 – a simple concept, gradual refinement

ELO 1 is a lightweight battery-powered reel mower designed primarily for gardens up to approx. 300 m², where comfort, cutting quality, and ease of use are more important than complicated technology or extreme performance.

That's why we focused on the following from the very beginning:

  • low weight (~12 kg) and easy movement across the lawn

  • quiet operation that does not disturb your family or neighbors

  • high-quality 15-blade spindle system for a dense, even lawn

  • minimalist design without complicated control or drive elements

How ELO 1 has changed across generations

1st generation – the first step

  • Original design with a lightweight frame and simple mechanics

  • Special attention paid to low weight and ergonomics

  • Ideal for small gardens and novice users

What we realized from the outset:
ELO 1 has to work reliably and without compromise in its basic functions – and it already worked perfectly back then.

Next generation – gradual improvements to details

In the video, we show how the subsequent series of models differed from the first ones – in terms of materials, production, and manufacturing processes.

The main changes include:

  • Higher-quality rear roller – the original versions sometimes had minor problems with the roller shell cracking; in newer generations, the roller has been reinforced and the manufacturing technology modified to make it more durable and reliable.

  • Refined basket design – the handling and attachment of the basket have been gradually improved to make them more intuitive and durable. (The video provides a practical demonstration of assembly and use.)

  • Fine-tuned ergonomics and controls – small adjustments to the handles, handle height, and control layout have been gradually added based on user feedback.

Why these changes make sense

We didn't add features just because we wanted to do something—but because we:

  • analyzed user feedback
  • sought solutions to real operational problems
  • fine-tuned details to make working with ELO 1 as pleasant as possible

So even though ELO 1 may look similar to the first generation, its quality, durability, and comfort have truly improved.

Summary

The ELO 1 is not a "complicated or overly technical machine" – it is a purposeful, efficient cylinder mower for everyday lawn maintenance.
That's why its development focused on:

  • practical improvements, not marketing features

  • robustness and reliability

  • improvements to details that you actually use.
